About Physical Media Vault
Built for serious collectors of physical formats.
What is Physical Media Vault?
Physical Media Vault is a platform built for serious collectors of physical media. Whether you have a shelf full of VHS tapes, a prized Laserdisc collection, a curated Blu-ray library, or a mix of everything in between — Physical Media Vault is your home for cataloguing, discovering, and eventually buying and selling the physical formats that matter to you.
We believe physical media is more than just a way to watch films. It's a connection to the history of cinema, a tangible artefact of culture, and for many of us, a lifelong passion. Physical Media Vault was built to honour that.
What can you do here?
- Catalogue your collection — log every item in your vault with condition grades, format details, and photos.
- Discover — browse what other collectors are adding and listing.
- Holy Grails — flag the items you're hunting for and get notified when they appear.
- Marketplace (coming soon) — buy, sell, and trade with other collectors directly.
- Enquire — contact sellers directly about listed items while the marketplace is in development.
Formats we support
VHS & S-VHS, Betamax, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-ray & 4K UHD, HD DVD, 8mm & Super 8, 16mm and 35mm film, CED (Capacitance Electronic Disc), rare versions, recordings, off-air tapes and blank media.
The marketplace
We're building a marketplace that puts collectors first — a direct connection between people who care about the same things. Marketplace features are currently in development. In the meantime, you can enquire directly about any listed item and connect with the seller.
Who built this?
Physical Media Vault was created by a collector, for collectors. It's an independent project built in Australia, with a genuine love for the formats it serves. We're a small operation and we're building in public. Expect things to evolve as the community grows.
